one last trip before summer vacation ends...

tadaima! i'm back from the beautiful mountains of Nagano :) never thot i would make another climb after mt fuji but somehow when chikage suggested to go for it i just immediately said yes. chikage's my closest friend from church. every week we meet at her home to read and share from the bible. she cooks really good japanese food for me all the time :) since last year we have been talking about going for a camping trip together, and since mike (her hubby) had his own plans with his colleagues over the weekend, we took the opportunity to finally camp out. actually i'm really sleepy (and hungry >_<) now, so i shall just let the pictures do most of the sharing \(^_^)/

it rained so heavily on e first day, we thot it'd be crazy to pitch a tent... but we still did!

the trail to the peak was all scenic

an old tree trunk that grew out o nowhere and survived

go~ chikage!!!

where we decide to have a lunch break

she really didn't want to come down from that rock! ^o^

can u see the yellowish limestone thingy giving out fumes? that's becos we r
actually on a volcanic mountian.
i started praying so hard when i found out that
to reach the
peak we have to come by so closely to many volcanic reactions .
"don't explode, don't explode, God please don't let it explode now...." (@@;)

finally at the peak of Yake Dake, 2455km above sea level. we made many friends along the trail (^_^)

i'm on the descending route... can u find me? :)

cooking dinner back at our campsite. dried camp food can taste so good!

brushing teeth by a river next to our tent

our home for 3 nights... chikage was so cute becos she was so afraid of bears.
she did so many weird and funny things that made me laugh (^_^O)

thank God for all the good memories and, most of all, for a good sister and friend!

dajie, u sound like you really climbed fuji lor...haha... btw the stick lasted me for 2 mountains and now it has to retire...the bottom part is broken ><

i didn't noe abt this mountain before too...i was dying in nagoya so God sent chikage to bring me into nagano to escape fr summer heat :) it really is much nicer than fuji.but fuji is a different experience so no regrets climbing fuji definitely! yake dake is a pretty easy climb n it's only 2455 above sea level so maybe can call it a hike instead? wat i love is tt there'r places where u get to put up your own tents!

mama, i was also thinking about how God had knew i was gonna climb again thus stopped me fr passing u the boots! :)there r many other mountains in the same area so if there's another chance let's climb tog again!

dajie, sorry no more chance for you liao...unless maybe ten yrs down the road can bring my nephew/niece along :)
